Geoffrey Goetz is a seasoned technology leader who wears many hats in areas like software development, graphic art, mobile architecture, public speaking and technical writing. In an era where people are becoming increasingly dependent on computing, he is helping global organizations adopt technologies that drive productivity and generate revenue.

Goetz is currently the executive director of mobile applications at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he oversees the planning, development and delivery of mobile applications and technologies. As the founder and managing member of ggeoffre, LLC, he has published around 500 articles on GigaOm’s Apple and mobile channels on a wide range of mobile-related topics. He also co-authored Mastering JBuilder, an authoritative book that uncovers all of the power techniques developers need to build large-scale Java applications.

Over the years, Goetz has played numerous key roles for different leading organizations. His career began as a programmer at Nationwide Insurance, a Fortune 100 company that offers a full range of insurance and financial services, where he led the COBOL2 conversion project to develop, code and test on-line COBOL enhancements to the AOA fire systems. In this capacity, he advanced from programming to IT architecture to contribute to enterprise systems and mobile development initiatives.

At Bank One, he worked on database warehouse systems before joining Compuware, where he implemented enterprise Java applications and served as a mobile architect who led iOS and Android development efforts. Goetz later became a senior systems engineer at Borland Software, influencing Fortune 500 companies by delivering product demonstrations, chalk talks and presentations to prospective customers. He shared his insights through international speaking engagements at Borland Developer Conferences for four consecutive years.

Serving as the vice president of marketing and mobile at dBase LLC, Goetz played a significant role in product launches, revenue growth and intellectual property management. He later moved to Pillar Technology, a company that offers a variety of products and services, including pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and dairy, as the director of ubiquitous continuity to design and develop iOS apps for Fortune 500 companies and drive innovation in agile environments.

Beyond his many roles in the technical space, Goetz’s work on The Apple Blog at GigaOm as a contract writer proved to be a significant success. With a focus on Apple related products and technologies, he wrote for various formats, including news, opinions, development, interviews and technical articles, out of which many were syndicated in The New York Times and other major publications.
